In a metaphorical sense, the most “true to the original” meaning would be that Taylor is tricking people into listening to her music for the click bait, cheap gossip only for them to arrive and realise that there isn’t any there - instead, she upsells and makes people realise that her music has rich substance to it. Through a queer lens, this could mean that she’s baiting heteronormative society into thinking that her music is about heterosexual relationships, when in reality it’s actually about queer relationships - these audiences did not buy her music, merch, tickets etc for queer themes but that’s what she’s offering them when they’re already “in the store.”
