<aside> 🌈 Queer History: ”Karma Chameleon” by Culture Club is in the top ten biggest selling songs by a queer artist in the world. In the same year that the song was released, 1983, the lead singer Boy George spoke freely about his bisexuality, later coming out as gay. It was later revealed that this song was about a homosexual relationship between members of the band. It’s interesting to note that Culture Club are seen as part of the beginning of the New Romantics movement, which would’ve meant that if Karma was the next album Taylor was planning on releasing, her last track being “New Romantics” could have been a deliberate foreshadowing of this.
